Pixie Dust Summer Classes

all at Millburn High School

Check back each week as we add classes!

Costume Design | Monday, July 25

In this class, we will learn about the basics of costume design, explore different styles, and make designs of our own! Each student will get the chance to let their imaginations run wild and create a design for a character of their choice.

What to Bring: Nothing required!

Improv Games | Tuesday, July 26

We will engage in some fun improv and acting games in order to become masters of comedy and performance! We will learn how to think on the fly and how to work with others creatively when the script flies out the window. Students will learn how to build trust with their fellow actors and have fun while doing it!

What to Bring: Nothing required!

Songwriting Workshop | Wednesday, July 27

Have you ever wanted to write a song? In this songwriting workshop, students will learn about the basics of song writing, how to put music to lyrics, and, at the end, will have their very own original song to share with their family and friends!

What to Bring: Nothing required!

Acting Techniques | Thursday, July 28

In this class, we will talk about the basics of acting while playing some fun games along the way! We will engage with one another to build confidence, learn acting tricks, establish stage presence, and work on interacting with fellow actors!

What to Bring: Nothing required!

Audition Workshop | Friday, July 29

In this class, we’ll talk about what it takes to be rockstars in auditions! Each participant should bring in a short cut of their favorite song to sing in front of the class. You’ll get unique feedback on your performance, and a chance to have all of your audition related questions answered. This is the perfect opportunity to practice audition music in a familiar, supportive environment! If there is extra time, we may even get to practice for a dance audition!

What to Bring: Please prepare a brief song (1 minute or less) and bring in sheet music in the appropriate key. If you need help with this, feel free to reach out ahead of time!
