Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do I need to audition to be a part of any of the programs or can I just register?
A. We do require an audition for all of our programs as we believe auditioning is an integral part of the learning experience. We strive to find ways to include as many performers as possible and work very hard NOT to turn people away, especially for these summer productions.
However, if you are interested in working behind the scenes (rather than onstage), we do have a select number of spots available in our workshop programs for this very purpose. Email us at info@pixiedustplayers.org to find out if this might be a good option for you!
Q. I really want to participate but am concerned about the finances. Do you offer any sort of payment plan or scholarship opportunities?
A. Yes, we do! Please reach out to us at info@pixiedustplayers.org to discuss some ways to offset the program costs or schedule payments to suit your needs.
Q. Will I get to know my role before committing to the program?
A. For our workshops, you will first find out if you have been accepted into the program. Role placement will be determined and shared once everyone has registered. If you have specific needs in terms of casting, you will have the opportunity to let us know about this at auditions and we will be sure to only accept you if we can accommodate your requests.
Q. How strict are the age ranges for each program?
A. The age ranges are meant to serve as suggestions. If you fall outside of the listed age range for a given production but are interested in participating, feel free to reach out!
Q. If I have conflicts with a program, am I still eligible to participate?
A. Due to the short duration of each process, attendance is very important. That said, if we know about the conflict ahead of time, we may be able to work around it.
Q. I am not sure I want to be onstage this summer but really like working on costumes/set/props/other aspects of production? Is there a place for me? OR My child is interested in getting involved onstage, are there ways in which I can help behind the scenes?
A. Absolutely! We are always looking for help with all aspects of production (from all ages!), especially with this many productions running at the same time! Feel free to email us for more information: info@pixiedustplayers.org
We are also thrilled to offer a select number of technical positions as a part of our workshop programs. Email us at info@pixiedustplayers.org if you are interested in being a part of the program but don't want to be onstage!
Q. What are your policies in regards to COVID-19?
A. At this time, masks are strongly encouraged for rehearsals but not required. Our policies are subject to change based on the current guidance of the CDC and the Department of Health. Masks will likely be required for audience members to attend the show in order to help keep our performers safe.
